The Managing Director is responsible for supporting the successful leadership and management of VCON in line with the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors and led by the Managing Director. Working directly under the Board of Director, the Managing Director helps translate company strategy into clear operational priorities and ensures effective execution across key functions. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in sales, finance, and general management, with the ability to lead teams, analyze performance, and drive improvements in day-to-day operations, and must also possess strong working knowledge of civil engineering and/or architectural principles to effectively oversee projects, communicate with technical teams, and ensure construction and factory operations meet required standards.
In this role, the Managing Director supports and participates with the Board of Directors in developing and refining the company’s vision and strategic plan. The position involves identifying, assessing, and informing the Board of internal and external issues that may affect the company, and contributing to the development of operational plans that align with strategic objectives. The Managing Director helps ensure that the company’s operations meet the expectations of both clients and the Board, and provides regular updates, performance analysis, and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
A major responsibility of the Managing Director is overseeing and coordinating sales procedures, including reviewing, evaluating, and implementing new processes to improve efficiency and results. The Managing Director establishes sales work priorities, ensures deadlines and sales targets are met, and confirms that procedures are consistently followed. The role requires resolving customer complaints regarding sales and service, monitoring customer preferences to guide sales focus, analyzing sales statistics, projecting future sales, and evaluating profitability of products and services.
The Managing Director also recommends discount rates or special pricing plans for approval, develops plans to acquire new customers through direct sales and business-to-business marketing visits, proposes and assigns sales territories, sets sales targets for approval, and plans and coordinates training programs for sales staff to strengthen capability and performance.
Operationally, the Managing Director supports the Board of Director in directing VCON’s teams, including oversight of factory and construction site activities as delegated. The role requires the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project schedules, and to apply civil engineering or architectural knowledge when reviewing construction progress, troubleshooting site issues, ensuring quality control, and coordinating effectively with engineers, architects, consultants, and contractors.
The Managing Director ensures efficient and effective day-to-day operations, monitors progress against targets, identifies bottlenecks, and drives corrective actions in coordination with department heads, while contributing to goal setting, performance management, operational analysis, and training programs that improve execution quality and team productivity.
From a financial perspective, the Managing Director works closely with finance staff to prepare comprehensive budgets aligned with company priorities. The role includes reviewing and approving expenditures within the authority delegated by the Managing Director and Board, ensuring bookkeeping and accounting procedures are properly followed, administering company funds according to the approved budget, and monitoring monthly cash flow to detect risks early.
The Managing Director provides the Board with regular, accurate reports on revenue, expenditure, and overall financial performance, while ensuring the company complies with applicable local legislation, including taxation and withholding requirements.
This position reports directly to the Board of Director and works closely with the Board of Directors to support strategy execution, operational performance, sales growth, financial discipline, governance, and team development across the company.
This position will report to VCON Board of Directors.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business, civil engineering, industrial engineering, management, economics or marketing required. Civil Engineering degree is preferred.
- Experience in construction material company management is usually required.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- 5 or more years of management experienced in construction industry preferred
- Good command in English , Thai
